Reflections, gratitude and looking ahead to 2022

Reflections, gratitude and looking ahead to 2022

What a year 2021 has been. We all started the year hopeful that COVID-19 was behind us. How unfortunate it was not to be the case. Lockdowns brought a barrage of emotions, and more challenges to those we faced last year.

So many of these emotions and challenges we all very much want to cleanse ourselves of before we move forward into a new year. We know too well that COVID is not yet over, but we can focus on the controllables to gain back our power and enjoy ourselves safely

For myself and Ben, 2021 has been one of our craziest years yet -  we said goodbye to an established, successful business and life as we had known it for 13 years, and said hello to a new baby and new business.

I’m an advocate for reflecting on the year that was, to take learnings, and to leave the behind the things that no longer serve you. This is no different from how I try to approach my week; with the attitude it’s a fresh new week with the opportunity to repeat things I wasn’t happy with or make some positive changes.

For the new year, it’s our YR wish for everyone to have goals that are achievable; particularly some that give you quick, visible wins. Alongside this set some hairier goals to strive for! For example, a goal may be to allocate 30 minutes a day to put the phone away and give undivided attention to your kids - focusing on quality not quantity. It could be to walk more each day, or add 2 more Pilates sessions into your week (home Pilates being the ultimate convenience to help achieve this - we’re not biased though!).

Finally, we just want to say a huge THANK YOU for all the support, encouragement as well as the following we have received at YR since we launched in July this year. We have been overwhelmed and touched by this response and it certainly motivates us to continue doing what we are loving, and enables us to expand and provide Pilates to more people in their homes across Australia in 2022 and beyond.

Wishing you all a safe and prosperous 2022 with plenty of time with loved ones and doing what you love.
