Be consistent  

Consistency is the key to any Pilates or fitness journey. Whether you can complete 1, 2 or 5 classes per week, sticking to an achievable routine allows Pilates to become a part of your lifestyle and naturally track your success.  

Catch your Zzz’s! 

Sleep provides many benefits: including increased focus, mood, muscle recovery and energy levels. Create a bedtime ritual, whether it be reducing screen-time in the evenings, a warm cup of your favourite herbal tea, a bath or a good book, and allow yourself the best opportunity to soak in the benefits of a good night’s sleep.   

Fuel your body 

Proper nutrition can provide the energy and nutrients your body needs to get the most out of every Pilates workout, build lean muscle, focus your mind and recover effectively. Focus on technique & challenge yourself 

Our experienced team of Instructors are always providing tips in our classes to help you improve technique and get the most out of each exercise. Checking in with your body and setting an intention for your class is always helpful in knowing where you’re at, as every day your body may be asking for something different from you. Challenge yourself by taking progressions when you’re feeling up for it, and focus on technique on days with a little less energy – doing a simple exercise well can be more effective than a progression at times!  

Stay connected  

Connection with others is a great way to stay motivated and committed to your Pilates practice.  The YR community is a great place to start, whether it be through the YR social platforms, commenting on a great class through the YR app, or completing a YR challenge with a friend to keep you both accountable! All of our previous challenges are available to have a go at any point, so if you're feeling stuck or need some inspiration, they are the perfect tool to use!
